Qualifications:
Janet Radziszewski is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated with her Master’s in
Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2007. She completed her clinical training at
Mercy Home for Boys in Chicago where she served the social-emotional needs of 16-20 year
old male clients in a residential unit and also at a North suburban high school serving 9th-12th
grade students. She then served as a school-based clinician at a middle school in the North
Shore area for 9 years and subsequently has been employed at a high school in the Northwest
suburbs since 2016. She has treated clients exhibiting difficulties associated with Depression,
Anxiety, suicidal ideation, self harm, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder, interpersonal conflict, low self-esteem, trauma and grief, to name a few.
Specialities:
Janet has had an array of experiences over the years working with emerging teens,
adolescents, young adults and guardians. Janet believes every parent should understand how a
school can serve as a partner to help support the mental health needs of their child in order to
optimize their academic and social potential. She has extensive experience completing school
based evaluations to determine special education eligibility, creating plans to increase the
likelihood that students will be able to thrive in the classroom, and facilitating re-entry meetings
to put support in place for students returning from a psychiatric hospitalization or significant
disciplinary incident. She believes parents should be given the tools necessary to effectively
connect with their child through healthy communication and boundaries so love and trust shine
through, and likewise that teens should acquire the skills necessary to effectively communicate
their thoughts and feelings within the family system as well. When providing individual, group
and family counseling services, Janet utilizes Strength-Based, Solution Focused, Cognitive
Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapeutic techniques to empower clients to make the
changes they deem necessary to live a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Janet is a relationship oriented therapist who validates and honors her clients’ experiences.
Developing trust is of the utmost importance to Janet and she strives to immediately create a
comfortable and safe therapeutic environment in which listening for understanding is always the
approach. Janet works alongside her clients to identify personalized goals important to their
journey. She then teaches and supports their implementation of strategies to have their actions
align with those aspirations.

Janet is married and has two school-aged children. They are a family who values growing
together through having fun and staying active. They can often be found riding their bikes,
running, shooting hoops or playing games together.
